MakeSubtitles ("this site") provides a free web tool for extracting and translating subtitles from video and audio files. The site runs in your browser without a backend server; speech recognition and translation are performed through third-party services (Groq, Anthropic) using API keys you provide.

2. Costs

Using this site is free. However, charges from third-party services invoked with your API keys are your responsibility. Usage and billing can be checked in each provider's console. This site is not responsible for costs arising from your API usage.

3. Your responsibilities

• Use this tool only with files you have the legal right to use.
• Unauthorized reproduction or distribution of others' copyrighted works, or any use violating applicable law, is prohibited.
• You are responsible for how you use the generated subtitles and translations.
• You are responsible for safeguarding your API keys. Clear browser data after using shared devices.

4. Output quality

Extraction and translation are performed automatically by AI models and may contain errors or inaccuracies. This site does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of the output. Review the results before using them for anything important.

5. Changes and discontinuation

This site may add or change features, or discontinue the service, without prior notice. Features may also stop working due to policy changes or outages at third-party services (Groq, Anthropic).

6. Disclaimer

This site is provided free of charge. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for direct or indirect damages arising from use of the site (data loss, API costs, damages caused by output errors, etc.).

7. Intellectual property

The design and code of this site belong to the operator. We claim no rights over the files you upload or the subtitles and translations generated from them.

8. Changes to these terms

Changes will be announced on this page along with an updated effective date.
